Alliance finalized between SP and RLD:
Every party is busy preparing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and every political party knows that the path to the Prime Minister’s chair goes through Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh has the maximum number of 80 Lok Sabha seats. Recently, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Sinha met. RLD and SP have been allies in UP since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Both parties have also decided to contest the elections together in Uttar Pradesh for the 2022 Lok Sabha elections. Confirming the alliance with RLD, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said, “Congratulations to everyone on the alliance of Rashtriya Lok Dal and SP! Let us all unite to win!”

An RLD leader said on the condition of anonymity that the seven seats on which RLD will contest will be mainly from Western Uttar Pradesh. Which includes Bijnor, Meerut, Amroha, Muzaffarnagar, Sikri, Baghpat, Fatehpur and Mathura.
