Meerut: In a recent development, an apprehension was made in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, as authorities successfully arrested a Pakistani ISI agent.
Arrested ISI agent identified as Satyendra Siwal, had been stationed at the Indian embassy in Moscow. Siwal had assumed the role of an India Based Security Assistant (IBSA) since 2021. This startling revelation sheds light on the intricate web of espionage and underscores the significance of vigilant security measures within diplomatic missions.

As per an official statement, the Anti-Terrorism Squad in Uttar Pradesh acted swiftly upon receiving intelligence from reliable sources about a spy operating within the Indian Embassy in Moscow. The UP ATS conducted a thorough interrogation of the individual identified as Siwal, who initially provided unsatisfactory responses. Subsequently, under the pressure of questioning, Siwal admitted to his involvement in espionage activities, leading to his prompt arrest in Meerut. This incident underscores the critical role of intelligence and proactive measures in safeguarding national security.
In the course of interrogation, Siwal disclosed a disturbing modus operandi wherein he enticed Indian government officials with financial incentives to procure sensitive information regarding the Indian Army and its routine operations. Shockingly, he stands accused of divulging critical and confidential details concerning the Indian Embassy, Ministry of Defence, and External Affairs to ISI handlers.
