“I recall that in the other House, Dr. Manmohan Singh, in a wheelchair, gave his vote even though it was apparent that the Treasury Bench would prevail. This demonstrates how a member is aware of his responsibilities. PM Modi stated, “I think he gave strength to the democracy, regardless of who gave it to him.”
Modi, who expressed gratitude for Former PM Manmohan Singh’s many years of national service, highlighted the idea that the lasting influence of moral leadership outweighs ideological differences. He emphasized how important Singh was in creating national policy and legislative debate throughout his time serving as Finance Minister and Prime Minister.
In addition, Prime Minister Modi sent his best wishes to each and every Rajya Sabha member who was retiring, praising their tremendous accomplishments and advising them to use their expertise to advance the nation. He underlined the value of consistency in legislative management, especially in light of India’s progress toward economic development and constitutional firsts.
A moving reminder that statesmanship knows no party boundaries, PM Modi’s homage to former PM Manmohan Singh is relevant as the country navigates the ongoing Budget Sessions of Parliament. Modi’s action highlights the need for unity in preserving democratic norms and parliamentary etiquette at a time of divisive discourse.
