Hemant Soren Case, New Delhi : Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged land scam case. Prior to his arrest, he submitted his resignation to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, which was promptly accepted. Following this, the ED arrested him. Simultaneously, the ED can present Hemant Soren in court today to demand remand. Meanwhile, Hemant Soren shared a tweet from his official Twitter handle, which is part of an excerpt from a poem.

Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday following over eight hours of interrogation regarding alleged money laundering in the land fraud case. Officials stated that he was subsequently taken to the ED office for a medical examination.
Prior to his arrest, Soren submitted his resignation as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand to Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan. Accompanied by alliance MLAs, he was then transported from Raj Bhavan to the ED office.
Rajesh Thakur, State Congress President, said, “Hemant Soren has stepped down as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. The ruling JMM-Congress-RJD alliance has nominated senior JMM leader Champai Soren for the position of the new chief minister.”

JMM legislature party leader Champai Soren informed reporters, ‘We have asserted our claim to establish a new government with the backing of 47 MLAs.’ Sources within JMM stated that former Chief Minister Hemant Soren approached the Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday night, though the specific reason for Soren’s court filing remains undisclosed. The division bench, presided by Acting Chief Justice Shri Chandrashekhar and Justice Anubha Rawat Chaudhary, is set to hear his petition on Thursday morning.
