New Delhi: The dramatic events going on between Delhi and Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, look no less than a movie story. ED officials reach Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s residence in
Ranchi to interrogate him in money laundering case, but ED does not find Hemant Soren. It is revealed that Hemant Soren is in Delhi, ED reaches Hemant Soren’s Delhi residence, Hemant
Soren is not found there either.

Official sources claim that Hemant Soren is missing for the last 24 hours. Whereas his party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha says that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is safe and is in touch with us.
Hemant Soren is being investigated in connection with an alleged racket of illegal change of land
ownership by the mafia in Jharkhand. ED has so far arrested 14 people in the case.
Amidst this development, ED has received a letter from Hemant Soren’s office, in which it is written that he will be available for questioning tomorrow afternoon i.e. on January 31.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha says that Hemant Soren will return to Ranchi soon and ED is taking
action motivated by politics. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha took out rallies in the entire state in favor of Hemant Soren.
According to ED sources, they have no information about the whereabouts of Mr. Soren. The
chartered plane by which he traveled from Ranchi to Delhi is standing at Delhi Airport. The
phones of many of his staff are switched off. ED has seized his BMW car in Delhi. His driver
was also interrogated, but to no avail. Sources said that some documents and Rs 36 lakh in
cash were found. ED officials went to his Delhi residence and Jharkhand Bhawan yesterday, but
could not find him. It is learned that Mr. Soren left his Delhi residence late on Sunday night.
The Jharkhand unit of the BJP has claimed that the Chief Minister is “absconding” and urged Governor CP Radhakrishnan to take notice. The governor has said he is “keeping an eye on the
overall situation”. “This is the governor’s job, I am doing it. When the time comes, we will cross
the bridge,” he told reporters.
In a tweet by Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi, in a post on social media platform He has said that those who find out will also be given a reward.

JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said, “The CM had gone to Delhi for some personal work and he will return. But, the ED action is unnecessary and unconstitutional. It seems the move is politically motivated.”
Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur alleged that the “confusion” being created over
Hemant Soren’s location was part of a “well-planned conspiracy”. Mr Thakur said, “An attempt is
being made to create a situation of imposing President’s rule in the state. People are spreading
rumors that the CM is missing.”
Meanwhile, all the MLAs of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led ruling alliance have been asked to remain in Jharkhand for the meeting on Tuesday. JMM general secretary Vinod Kumar Singh told news agency PTI that the MLAs would “discuss the future course of action”.
BJP MP and Jharkhand leader Nishikant Dubey has claimed that plans are afoot to make Mr. Soren’s wife Kalpana the Chief Minister. “Hemant Soren ji has called his, JMM, Congress and associate MLAs to reach Ranchi with luggage and bags. According to the information, there is a proposal to make Kalpana Soren ji (wife of Hemant Soren) the Chief Minister. CM has said He said that fearing ED interrogation, he will reach Ranchi by road and announce his arrival.
