Congress workers tried to remove the barricade in Jorabat:
News came that Congress workers tried to remove the barricade in Jorabat, after which Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked Assam Police to register an FIR against Rahul Gandhi for inciting the mob.
On Monday, Assam Police had stopped Rahul Gandhi from visiting the Batadrava Than temple, the site of the revered Vaishnav saint of Assamese society, Shrimant Shankar Dev. Rahul Gandhi was stopped by the local administration at Haibargaon, about 17 kilometers before the temple. After which Rahul Gandhi sat on strike there.
Rahul gandhi talked to media during bharat jodo nyay yatra:
While talking to the media, Rahul Gandhi had targeted PM Narendra Modi and said, “It seems like today only one person is allowed to go to the temple, will PM Modi decide who will go to the temple?”
Rahul Gandhi’s reference was towards the Pran Pratistha program being held in Ayodhya Ram temple.
Assam CM Himanta biswa sarma says:
On Rahul Gandhi being stopped from going to Batadrava, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma says, his request to Rahul Gandhi is that he should not go to Batadrava when there is a program of consecration in Ayodhya Ram temple.
Apart from this, Assam CM HImanta Biswa Sarma said, Morigaon, Jagiroad and Nellie are sensitive areas, Rahul Gandhi has chosen the route through minority dominated areas, which could have been avoided.
Criticizing Rahul Gandhi on the incident of breaking the barricade, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on X and wrote, These are not part of Assamese culture. We are a peaceful state. Such “naxalite tactics” are completely alien to our culture. I have instructed @DGPAssamPolice to register a case against your leader @RahulGandhi for provoking the crowd & use the footage you have posted on your handles as the evidence. Your unruly behaviour and violation of agreed guidelines have resulted in a massive traffic jam in Guwahati now.

Countering this, Rahul Gandhi said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has benefited him by stopping the yatra, you can abuse him, do anything, I am not afraid.
During a press conference, Rahul Gandhi said, “Whatever the Chief Minister of Assam is doing against the Yatra, it is benefiting the Yatra, this Yatra has become the main issue in Assam, this is their (BJP) way of scaring them.” Yes, we have the advantage, our message is going from village to village because the public is asking what is happening?”
Even before this, whenever Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was passing through Jorhat in Assam, the administration had registered a case against the organizer under relevant sections for violating the designated route.
