New Delhi: Like yesterday, today also on Wednesday the confrontation between farmers and policemen continued on the Shambhu border between Haryana and Punjab.
Since yesterday, farmer protesters have been continuously trying to move forward by breaking the barricade at the Shambhu border. Haryana Police says that they have released tear gas shells to drive back the protesters. On Wednesday, the Punjab Administration has asked Haryana not to fly drones in the area of Punjab. The Punjab administration has said this because since yesterday, the Haryana administration has been continuously flying drones inside the border of Punjab and is also releasing tear gas shells on the farmers from the drones.
Haryana DGP Shatrujat Kapoor has told news agency ANI that 24 police personnel have been injured in the clashes on Tuesday.
Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has said, “The farmers want to go to Delhi and talk to the government representatives, but when the government ministers reached Chandigarh to talk to them, the farmer leaders refused to talk to them.”
Anil Vij has also said that he was surprised when Punjab asked Haryana not to fly drones.
Speaking to news agency PTI, farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dhallewal said, “We have come to know through the media that Anurag Thakur has said that he is ready for talks to resolve the issues.”
“We do not want to give them an opportunity to say that we have not accepted their offer. We have taken permission from our partners and now we will hold talks with the government. Our preference is that the talks should be held in Chandigarh or somewhere close to the protest site.”
BKU Ugrahan, one of the largest farmers organizations of Punjab, has called for stopping the trains for 4 hours on Thursday from 12 noon to 4 pm. BKU Ugrahan is not with the protesting farmers at this time. But Ugrahan has said that if the administration does not stop atrocities on farmers, then even stricter demonstrations will be called for.
Meanwhile, reports are being received that the third round of talks between the central government and the farmers has started through video conferencing.
This conversation is taking place at Eagle Hotel in Rajpura.
The Union Minister will connect with farmer leaders through video conferencing from Delhi.
