According to the news of BBC Hindi, a banquet was organized for JDU MLAs at the residence of a minister close to the Nitish government, but about 20 JDU MLAs did not attend it.
According to experts, some of Nitish’s MLAs are angry with the fact that Nitish Kumar makes only a few selected faces as ministers in his cabinet every time.
According to the current figures, the Nitish government has the support of 78 MLAs of BJP, 45 of JDU and 4 of Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party HAM (Secular). That means Nitish seems to have a clear majority in the Bihar Legislative Assembly of 243 seats and 122 are needed for majority.
But apart from these figures, many kinds of speculations are quite rampant in Bihar. There is also a lot of discussion going on about Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party separating from the Nitish government.
Amidst these speculations, CPIM MLA Mehboob Ali has met Jitan Ram Manjhi. However, ‘Hum’ spokesperson Nandlal Manjhi told BBC that the meeting was informal.
According to Nandlal Manjhi, “Mehboob Ali ji had come. The door of Manjhi ji’s house is open for everyone. He drank tea and inquired about Manjhi ji’s health, but went out and said that he might have ‘played’. This is absurd, an attempt to create a confusing situation. Manjhi ji is with Modi ji.”
Jitan Ram Manjhi has also claimed that the Nitish government will prove its majority on Monday. In fact, when Nitish Kumar joined hands with NDA last month, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had claimed that the game was still to be played in Bihar.
After that, Bihar Assembly Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary has also refused to resign from his post.
Meanwhile, Congress has sent many of its MLAs from Bihar to Hyderabad. Congress alleges that there may be an attempt to break their MLAs.
According to Bihar Congress spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwari, many JDU MLAs are angry with Nitish Kumar and we will not close the door if he joins the grand alliance.
It is believed that Nitish is in the last phase of his political career and in such a situation, many MLAs fear that if he still does not become a minister, he will never be able to succeed again. Not only this, he also sees a threat to his political future.
Meanwhile, BJP has sent its MLAs and Legislative Council members to the camp in Gaya for training.
