New Delhi: Sonia Gandhi, MP from Raebareli, UP, has now filed her nomination for Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, after which she has written a letter to the people of Raebareli.
The Lok Sabha seat of Raebareli is considered to be the seat of the Gandhi family. After independence, first Feroze Gandhi then Indira Gandhi was the MP from here in the Lok Sabha and now Sonia Gandhi has been elected MP continuously since 2004.
What did Sonia Gandhi write in her letter?
In her letter, Sonia Gandhi expressed her inability to contest the next Lok Sabha elections citing increasing age.
Sonia Gandhi wrote, “Our family has deep roots with Raebareli. I know that you will take care of my family in every difficulty, just like you have been taking care of me till now.
She wrote that after losing my mother-in-law and my life partner forever, I came to you and you extended your arms for me. In the last 2 elections you stood with me like a rock even in difficult circumstances, I can never forget this.
Sonia Gandhi also mentioned Feroze Gandhi and Indira Gandhi in her letter.
“Now due to health and increasing age, I will not contest the next Lok Sabha elections. Because of this decision, I will not get the opportunity to serve you directly, but it is certain that my heart and soul will always be with you.”
